Carrying high-interest balances? · Toronto
Credit cards and lines of credit at high rates are the hardest debt to get out from under. Folding them into a mortgage is one route, and it has a real trade-off worth understanding before you take it. Rafee will walk you through both sides.
Ontario-licensed · #M25002512. Rafee compares your file across 50+ lenders through Perch Mortgage, covering A, Alt-A and private options. It costs nothing to talk and there's no obligation to move.
The honest version
It changes the shape of the debt. Whether that helps you depends on the numbers and on what happens next.
Higher-interest balances move to the mortgage rate, so what leaves your account each month can fall meaningfully. That's the part people come for.
Stretching that balance over a longer amortization can mean paying more overall, even at a lower rate. Both halves are true at once, and you should see both.
Missed payments narrow the lender list, they rarely close it. B lenders and private lenders exist for exactly this, and the path back to an A lender starts with a plan.
What's behind the advice
Serving Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and across Ontario.
Before you book: good to know
Does consolidating mean I pay less overall? Not necessarily. Your monthly payment can go down while your total interest goes up, because the balance is spread over a longer amortization. Rafee will show you both numbers so the trade-off is yours to make.
My credit has taken a hit. Is it worth applying? Usually yes. Bruised credit changes which lenders will look at the file, not whether anyone will. B and private lenders price for it, and many files move back to an A lender later.
Will asking about this hurt my credit further? No credit pull is needed to get a first number and understand your options. A pull only happens if you decide to move ahead with an application.
